Mortgage rates have fallen to their lowest level since May 2023, according to Freddie Mac. The 30-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 6.60% as of January 18 compared to the week before when it averaged 6.66%. Mortgage rates remain more than a full percentage point lower compared to last year’s highest rates of 7.79%.
